When You Want to Target Pain, Nurofen Plus Hits the Mark Every Time
When You Want to Target Pain, Nurofen Plus Hits the Mark Every Time
Most people’s relationship to pain is complicated. First, the ability to tolerate pain seems to differ from person to person. For example, in the aftermath of identical dental procedures, one person may hurry back to work while another heads home and goes to bed because the pain is too intense. Second, while some people find that over-the-counter analgesics are satisfactory, for other people the pain relief that’s available over the counter is sometimes simply not enough.
Not surprisingly, different countries have different regulations when it comes to what constitutes an over-the-counter medicine and which drugs require a prescription. In New Zealand, for example, effective pain relief can be found in an over-the-counter product called Nurofen Plus, which contains both ibuprofen and codeine. Specifically, it contains 200 mg of ibuprofen and 12.8 mg of codeine phosphate. An added benefit is that it doesn’t contain gluten, wheat, lactose, sucrose, or preservatives.
Ibuprofen is both an analgesic and an anti-inflammatory medicine. When it’s combined with codeine, you can get powerful temporary relief from both the pain and inflammation associated with a variety of types of headaches (both tension and migraine, for example), dental pain, back and neck pain, neuralgia, rheumatic and arthritic pain, muscular pain, and pain related to sports injuries. For women, the combination is particularly effective for cramps related to menstruation.
The typical Nurofen Plus dosage is two tablets taken initially, followed by one or two tablets every four hours, but not to exceed six tablets within a 24-hour period. As with any medications, Nurofen Plus has contraindications. For example, you should not take the medicine if you have a stomach disorder, stomach ulcers, kidney problems, or heart problems. Likewise, if you have allergies to ibuprofen, aspirin, anti-inflammatory medication, or codeine, the product isn’t for you. As is always the case, you should check with your doctor about the potential for drug interactions with any other medications you are currently taking.
Although Nurofen Plus is semi-regulated, in that there is a limit to the number of tablets that can be purchased, it is sold online and shipped worldwide. Many people have experienced the analgesic benefits of the product, which are more pronounced because Nurofen Plus contains 12.8 mg of codeine phosphate, considered a controlled substance in many countries.
When you’ve experienced a sports injury, or suffer from nerve pain, headaches, or arthritis, you may not need a full-strength prescription painkiller, yet you need more than plain ibuprofen. When that’s the case, Nurofen Plus can give you the temporary relief you need until you recover.
Stop Confusing Migraine from Headache
Stop Confusing Migraine from Headache
In the US alone, thousands of people suffer from mild to severe case of migraine attacks. Migraine, which is a known neurological disease, may most likely develop from a simple everyday nuisance to a serious life-threatening experience. Since treatments for migraine headache are very costly, very few individuals consult their condition to a doctor. There are a number of recognized causes of migraine. According to experts, migraine may be triggered by the following factors:
1.Loud noises and bright lights
2.Abrupt changes in sleeping patterns
3.Too much consumption of caffeine and alcohol
4.Fluctuations in menstrual cycle
5.Too much smoking
6.Allergic reactions
7.Emotional and physical stress
8.Changes in weather
However, there are times when a migraine occurs for no reason at all. With this, experts presuppose that migraine triggers most when one is exposed to a number of environment-related factors. Doctors always advise their patients to keep a note of their headache and migraine attacks, thus, making it easier for them to identify which factors commonly trigger the painful attacks. This will also help patients differentiate simple headaches from serious migraine condition. Many people often falsely refer headache as migraine. The truth is that migraine is not just a headache. Unlike the simple headache that can be easily cured by taking medications, migraine requires consultation to a neurologist followed by a series of treatment. Majority of the recommended treatments, however, are not entirely effective.
Differentiate migraine from headache: Know the indicatorsAs stated earlier, many individuals confuse migraine from a bad headache. To know if what you have is already a serious migraine condition, the following are the three indicators to consider:
1.A feeling of nausea
It is no longer a mere headache if you constantly feel nauseated. Most of the time you will feel a wave of nausea, but sometimes it goes with vomiting. Changes in body temperature coincides with this condition.
2.Unbearable pain
Another indication of migraine is the re-occurring pain on either the left or right side of the brain. The pain often starts in the eyes then goes down to the neck.
3.Visual defects
You will know if it is already a serious case of migraine when you are experiencing visual disturbances. If your eyes become overly sensitive to light; you often see flashing lights before you; or you somehow develop temporary blindness, now is the time for you to visit a neurologist to confirm your condition.
Most of the conventional treatments for migraines are not 100 percent effective. As such, many individuals suffering from migraine attacks resort to alternative cures. One of the known alternative treatments is the acupuncture, which helps prevent headache from further developing. While some make use of relieving scents and incense, others believe that sleep is the best solution for migraine. Since migraine attacks usually follow a series of pattern, doctors always advice patients to avoid interrupting the cycle by not taking any painkiller or other relieving treatment. Ignoring the pain is more likely to lessen the duration of the attack.
You Can Be A Faith Healer
You Can Be A Faith Healer
You can learn-almost immediately-to minister healing by faith. Yes, you can learn to minister healing by faith almost immediately.
I believe that any believer can be a faith healer if they will just do what God says…if they will just act upon His word.
Some of my earliest experiences ministering healing by faith came in a denominational church where I was pastor. I gave an invitation in one of our services for those needing healing to come forward. Between twenty and thirty people came forward for healing. Keep in mind please that these dear folk were weak in what the Bible said about healing. But they were ill and came forward anyway.
My message that night was upon being healed by laying on of hands and/or anointing with oil. I proceeded to lay hands upon and anoint with oil all those who came requesting it. As the laying on of hands and the anointing progressed, things began to happen. Healings began to occur.
One young lady said that when I laid hands on her for her healing, she felt heat come from my hands and enter her body. At that exact point in time she said she could feel all the pain and discomfort (caused from her sickness and malady) leave her.
Another person who was standing next to one to whom I was ministering healing said they could feel the healing coming from that person into them also. They too were healed then and there. The power of God was strong in the place that night.
One of these people had migraines that were debilitating to them. Yet they had been unable to get relief anywhere. That night perfect calm came over that person as the pain swiftly went away.
All we were doing was acting on what God said in His word. They simply acted by coming for laying on of hands and anointing with oil and prayer. I simply acted by laying hands on them, anointing them and praying over them. This is the unbeatable combination for healing. Just obey what God says for us to do for our healing.
Of course these are wonderful memories for me. These occurred when I was just starting out in the healing ministry. But even more wonderful and beautiful is this:
God hasn’t changed His ways, His word or His healing delivery methods. These healing delivery methods still work when we work them. They are as valid today and as powerful as they were the first time I used any of them back in the early 80’s.
You can be healed with them now…here…today. You can also (almost immediately) learn how to minister healing to others. Just get your Bible down and learn some of the eight ways God has chosen to heal His children.
Then do what He says do in these Scriptures. When you act out what He said, the healing problem is passed on to Him. He must and will heal. You can learn to minister faith healing.
Spotting the Signs of Anorexia
Spotting the Signs of Anorexia
Eating disorders are dangerous illnesses that affect both physical and mental health. More and more people become the victims of eating disorders nowadays. A disturbing fact is that eating disorders such as anorexia (Anorexia Nervosa) and bulimia (Bulimia Nervosa) have high mortality rates. Around ten percent of people with anorexia die from starvation and malnourishment.
The persons with anorexia usually deny the facts of being confronted with a problem. They start by feeling constrained by their body weight and physical appearance and then end up by developing obsessions with food, weight and staying thin. They indulge in harmful behaviors, carefully portioning and restricting the amount of food they consume. People with anorexia also have a false perception of their body image, living with the permanent impression that they are fat, even if they are underweight.
Anorexia, just like other eating disorders can be treated. However, in order to overcome the illness, people with anorexia need all the help they can get. Although at first they may refuse any kind of intervention from the exterior, it is important to encourage them and to provide them with care and support. In order to prevent and to overcome anorexia, it is vital to keep an eye on its signs. If you suspect that someone you know may be suffering from such an eating disorder, it is very important to know the signs of anorexia.
The signs of anorexia are usually easy to identify, due to dramatic changes in physical aspect and behavior. The most obvious sign of anorexia is inappropriate body weight. Most anorexics weigh a lot less than they should. The persons with anorexia are constantly preoccupied with their weight, the amount of calories contained by the food they consume and with keeping drastic diets. Anorexics tend to bring issues regarding food and body weight into discussion in every conversation. They sometimes do it unknowingly, due to their need of expressing their obsessive, troubling thoughts.
Other signs of anorexia are excessive physical activities like jogging or work outs. Also, people with anorexia tend to isolate themselves from the world and they refuse to participate in many activities due to their complexions of being fat and repulsive. Anxiety, agitation and even violent impulses are also signs of anorexia.
Women and girls that suffer from anorexia experience irregular menstrual periods. Low body weight and menstrual problems or infertility are obvious signs of anorexia in girls.
Anorexics usually have unpredictable reactions and they quickly jump from one mood to another. They may appear to be relaxed and calm at one moment, while the next moment they may burst into tears. Emotional instability is therefore another sign of anorexia.
Other signs of anorexia are unusual hair loss, internal disturbances like stomachaches, burns or constipation, migraines, low blood pressure, unstable body temperature, heart problems and dehydration.
Keep in mind that in order to prevent an anorexic from causing further damage to oneself you should quickly spot the presence of the disorder by paying attention to the signs of anorexia.
What Does A Physiotherapist Do?
Many people are now just beginning to understand about physiotherapy. If you or a loved one has been injured, or have suffered an illness or undergone an operation, chances are that you have come into contact with a physiotherapist. Many people wonder “What does a physiotherapist do?” There is no set answer as physiotherapy encompasses many different aspects of medicine.
A physiotherapist is a medical individual who uses a variety of treatments, including manipulation, massage, exercise therapy and even counseling to help individuals who have been immobilized due to various reasons, to regain their mobility and aid their recovery process. A physiotherapist cannot prescribe medicine, instead, he or she relies on using a variety of techniques that have proven to be just as effective or, in many cases, more effective than medication.
Medication often only masks pain. In prior years, those who experienced chronic pain were often prescribed pain medications that were not only physically dangerous when abused, but also very addictive. In most cases, individuals would have to take additional doses of the pain medication to achieve the same relief. Abuse of prescription pain medication is almost an epidemic in this country and accounts for many people who have had to enter rehabilitation centers to rid themselves of this addiction.
Other methods doctors prescribed to alleviate pain often involved surgery. Sometimes this surgery had substantial risks, particularly back surgeries. Back pain is the most common reason why people visit the doctor each year. Yet there is little a medical doctor can do but prescribe pain medication and recommend surgery. What does a physiotherapist do to alleviate back pain? He or she finds the root of the pain, most often in the spinal column, and through massage and manipulation can alleviate the pain and in many cases, cure the condition, without the use of surgery or drugs.
In the past, people who were recovering from an operation spent quite some time in the hospital, after which, they were sent home under strict bed rest. This can be dangerous, particularly for an older person who runs the risk of developing blood clots in their legs that can travel to their heart or brain. It became advisable to recommend that these patients begin to mobilize at a slow pace. This is where the physiotherapists came in. Now, instead of releasing elderly patients home after operations, many are released to rehab centers where qualified physiotherapists can ease them into mobilization and allow them to make a full recovery.
From treating people with chronic health conditions and diseases, alleviating pain, migraines, stress and helping people with arthritis regain movement in their hands and joints – these are all examples of “what does a physiotherapist do?” Physiotherapists are an integral part of the medical community and are essential when aiding with recovery from various illnesses, operations or accidents.
It is no longer important to ask “what does a physiotherapist do?” It is more important to know that he or she is there for you when you need them.
Disney World Traveling
Disney World Traveling
Disney World is probably the most popular theme park in the world, attractions, rides, characters, the works, there is no doubt that nobody goes to Disney World to get headaches. To prevent unnecessary muscle and head pain, it is best to be prepared.
Proper Season
It is best to go to Disney World during off season, which is roughly around early January to mid February, or after Labor Day through mid December. During off season, there are less people, less congestion and less headaches. What’s more, it rarely gets cold in Florida, even during winter season, and it gets swelteringly hot and humid during summer, so winter, really is the time to go.
The Proper Lodgings
Although it is cheaper to stay in hotels outside of Disney World, the extra cash you’ll have to cough up if you stay inside is more than made up for by the comfort and convenience of an inside stay.
Imagine getting traveling from your room, then going through the 47 square mile area that is Disney world, then traveling back to your Hotel… exhausting isn’t it?
The Proper Schedule
Where to actually go once you get there is determined by your choice of companions, kids, teenagers or adults.
Kids
Go through Cinderella’s Castle and Visit Fantasy Land or Mickey’s Toon Town, the little tots will surely love all the characters roaming around that area. The rides in these parts are built for 6 year olds and below, but mommy or daddy can still squeeze themselves in if they want.
Adults or Teens
A trip to Magic Kingdom may be in order if you’re with big kids. You can go to Splash Mountain to get wet or to Space Mountain to get some indoor rollercoaster, and fun for the bumpy person, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad should be enough to satisfy their taste for adventure.
Rides for Everyone
If you want something that everyone can enjoy, a ride in the Walt Disney World Railroad, can rest those tired feet and at the same time give you an enjoyable view of Magic Kingdom.
Haunted Mansion, although not really for very young kids, can be a thrill for toddlers, it’s a ride not a walk through so there’s no tripping or running involved.
For relaxing walks, try the Tiki Room Show or the Swiss family Tree House.
The Proper Dining Experience
For cute snacks, try the Aloha Isle inside Adventureland, they conjure up creative drinks and snacks, a good place to try something cute and different.
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe provides a cool indoor dining area between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland where you can enjoy your food to your hearts content.
Sinus Problems? No Problem at All
Sinus Problems? No Problem at All
We all know how it feels. We’ve felt the pain. The pressure builds until you think you can’t handle it any more. Your head feels like it’s twice its normal size and ready to burst. You know what I’m talking about: Sinus problems and sinus infections; whatever you’d like to call them. They can really make your life miserable for weeks at a time, especially during the winter months.
Sinusitis, most commonly known as sinus infection, happens when the sinuses get blocked and mucus and air cannot flow freely through them. Here’s a statistic to think about: 30% of all people suffer from sinusitis at least once a year. Put that in perspective and that means about 1.8 billion people suffer from one sinus infection or another during the year. This includes those who suffer short term (acute: 1-3 weeks), long term (chronic: 3-8 weeks) and recurrent (multiple times throughout the year) sinus problems.
Sinus infection symptoms can hit you in a number of ways. They include:
• Fever
• Headache
• Runny nose or nasal congestion
• Cough
• Ear ache or ear infection
• Swelling around the eyes
• Upper jaw and tooth ache
• Tenderness around nose, ear, and cheeks
• Weakness or fatigue
Personally, sinus headaches make me want to die. I feel like I’m in slow motion. A helicopter sounds like it is just above my head with its choppers going constantly. The pressure mounts in my sinus cavities and fills every whole from my brain to my face. I can’t concentrate on anything and everyday tasks become burdens. I couldn’t imagine dealing with sinus headaches on a regular basis. Nobody wants to go around feeling like that. Life’s hard enough without your head beating like a drum.
None of those are fun to experience; you have places to be, people to see, and things to do. You can’t afford to be sick for lengthy periods of time. If you’re part of that 30%, then you would probably like to know what you can do to prevent sinus infections from making your life a mess for weeks at a time. Simple activities, using a humidifier, and regularly cleansing nasal passages are a few good ways that can help decrease sinus infection symptoms. These symptoms can also be combated by using a nasal spray to clean, flush, and kill the harmful bacteria out of your nasal passages and sinus cavities.
Sinus problems can really complicate your daily routine and make life miserable. So plan ahead and don’t get stuck in slow motion from sinus infections.
Steps To Help Your Insomnia
Steps To Help Your Insomnia
Insomnia is a whole lot more than your body telling you that you have had enough sleep. Actually, insomnia is your body’s way of letting you know that something is wrong. Insomnia is different in each person, some just can not fall asleep, others wake in the middle of the night and are unable to fall back asleep, and some just wake up much too early. There can be various reasons, perhaps you are drinking too much caffeine, maybe you suffer from anxiety and depression, maybe you have some conflict or inner struggles in your life, or maybe you are in pain from migraines or arthritis.
Whatever the case, there is a problem that needs to be diagnosed before you will get another good night sleep. When your body is not allowing you to sleep there is a problem and your body is telling you that something is wrong with your body and or mind that needs to be addressed.
Most adults require about 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night but that can vary depending on the person. Usually a person knows if they have got enough sleep depending on the way that they feel the next day. If you feel tired and lack energy then odds are that you likely did not get your proper rest. Research has shown that as people age their Stage 4 sleep, which is the deepest sleep, tends to become shorter and eventually can disappear entirely. This result is older people waking more during the night and napping more during the day. This is not always indicative of a sleep disorder such as insomnia.
There are some things that you can attempt on your own in an attempt to rid your insomnia such as eliminating caffeine, watching your intake of alcohol, using relaxation techniques, limit any stimulating activities at least a few hours before bed, and keeping a routine at bedtime. Make sure that you are not hungry or too full, try taking a nice hot bath, or even try reading yourself to sleep. Make sure that you are attempting to sleep in a comfortable bed.
If you find that you are having a difficult time falling asleep then remove yourself from the bed and go do something else until you become tired again. Never nap! As much of a drag as this might sound you have to establish a bedtime for yourself and a get up time and stick with it seven days a week. These are attempts that you can make but if they do not work then make an appointment to see your doctor so you do not lose another precious nights sleep. You are worth it and you will feel so much better.
Perhaps you might want to try some herbal remedies that are relatively inexpensive and easily accessed over the counter. Many of these herbal compounds especially Lavender and catnip have been used for centuries to relax and calm people down, therefore allowing them to fall asleep.
